The V model by New-Line is a main radiator and so it is positioned to the left of the pilot, opposite to the engine side of a kart.
The V radiator connects directly to the engine and, like all radiators, its function is to lower as much as possible the temperature of the boiling hot water that comes out of the engine. This is a simple process: water comes out of the engine, goes through the radiator grid where it cools down via ventilation, and once it is colder it goes back into the engine.
The V model is the most revolutionary of all radiators on the market: it is named after its shape. What makes it revolutionary is the fact that a single product contains both a radiator and a conveyor. Thanks to its shape, in fact, the V conveys a higher quantity of air to the grid. More air is also harnessed via the “screen” on the top part of the radiator: this increases the cooling effect by 20% compared to a standard radiator. The cooling action is increased by 150 degree V angle.
The V was designed to face extreme heat and mainly for shifter categories: including the V bend, the radiator is 29.5 cm wide, but if the V were “flattened out” the radiating mass would total 30.5 cm.
-Who makes it? Manufacturing this radiator requires two people: the first creates the parts, by using a particular cast designed in detail to create the “V” shape and specific masks, and then prepares them for assembly; the other then welds the pieces together by hand, one by one.
-Material: This radiator is made with an aluminium composed of three different alloys, to withstand the extremely high temperatures it is exposed to.
-Measurements: width 29.5 cm, height 43 cm, thickness 4 cm (10 cm considering the V bend).
-Comparison: The V is so unique that it is hardly comparable to any other radiator. But if it were compared to the Big (the other summer radiator) the differences are that the V model weighs more but is more effective with up to 20% more cooling power.
