Clarity regards validity helmet tests
It has come to our attention that there is some confusion among the drivers concerned the validity of the various helmet tests, hence here a clear overview;
FIA 8860-2004: no end date
Snell SA-2010: no end date
Snell SA-2005: no end date
Snell SA-2000: no longer valid after a 31-12-2014
BS6658-85 type A/FR: no longer valid after 31-12-13
It is therefore a misunderstanding that the Snell SA-2005 adopted only a few years is valid. Having regard to the validity of the Snell SA-2000 verification is presumably adopted the Snell SA-2005 valid until 2020.
The above information applies to all regulations the FIA rules.
Some organizations, including DNRT, handling their own rules for what regards helmets, in these organizations is for all of the above inspections no end date known.
In so-called Trackdays where a helmet is required you can also use all of the above tests.
